Marion County Records
Marion County Court House.Marion County was created from Lee and Muscogee counties in 1827 by an Act of the General Assembly. Between 1827 and 1876, Marion County gave up land to Chattahoochee, Crawford, Macon, Muscogee, Schley, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster Counties. Marion was named for General Francis Swamp Fox Martion (1732-1795) of South Carolina, a Revolutionary War hero. Early Settlers: A. P.
